DUSHANBE, 20.02.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On February 17, in Ashgabat, on the occasion of the Professional Day of Turkmen Diplomats the cultural and concert program, as well as the Conference entitled “The Diplomacy of the Silk Road: peace, friendship and cooperation” was held at the Institute of the International Relation of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the MFA Information Department.

According to the source, on the framework of the celebration of this event the cultural Displays of the Diplomatic corps, accredited in Ashgabat, including the Great Silk Road countries were placed, on which the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan took part as well.

“Musical instruments, traditional embroidery and the national dresses of Tajik people, as well as books and touristic brochures, which introduce the culture and civilization of Tajiks, including the unique nature of the country, were placed on the cultural Display of Tajikistan, so the participants of the event could introduce with them closely”, – reports ministry.

It is noted that after the exhibition, there was the Conference entitled “The Diplomacy of the Silk Road: peace, friendship and cooperation” with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, the Representatives of the Parliament, the Heads of Diplomatic Corps, as well as high education institutions, Mass Media and other officials.

During the Conference the Heads of Diplomatic Corps, including the Ambassador of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan Sharifzoda Farrukh Homiddin had given speeches. In his speech, the Ambassador of Tajikistan mentioned the historical role of the Republic of Tajikistan on formation of the Great Silk Road, its importance among the countries of the region and the countries of the East and West in general, including current bilateral relations between the two countries.
