DUSHANBE, 16.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Two young scientists from the S. Umarov Physical–Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan are undergoing a 20-day internship at the Kagami Memorial Research Institute of Materials and Technology of Waseda University and the International Science and Technology Center.
The head of the department of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies of the institute Farhod Shokir said that the cooperation between the Physico-Technical Institute of Tajikistan and Waseda University has been going on for more than 5 years. It is based on the topic of quantum chemical calculations to optimize the properties of new functional nanocomposite materials, as well as their direct synthesis.
“During our long-term cooperation, 8 young scientists from the institute completed internships in the scientific laboratories of Waseda University in Tokyo. And this year, based on the support of the ZAIKEN Foundation of this University and the International Science and Technology Center, two of our young scientists are undergoing an internship in the laboratory of Professor T. Yamamoto of Waseda University. The main task set by the internship supervisor from the Japanese side, Professor T. Yamamoto, was to conduct two types of experiments: with phosphors and perovskites. The internship program also includes a more detailed introduction to machine learning in the field of materials science,” the scientist commented.
It should be noted that the Physico-Technical Institute conducts joint research with a number of scientific institutes in the CIS countries and abroad, including research institutes and universities in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Spain, Portugal, China and Japan.
Shokir noted that in the modern world, scientific cooperation between representatives of scientific centers and institutions of countries is one of the key factors in the development of practical science — high technologies and modern innovative solutions.
