Meeting of Emomali Rahmon with President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ali
Dushanbe, 04.01.2015 (NIAT «Khovar») — President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ali.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the long-term and fruitful cooperation of Tajikistan with the IDB.
It was noted that this bank allocated to Tajikistan soft loans and technical assistance amounting to some 325 million US dollars, aimed at the implementation of important projects in various social and economic spheres.
Now, the total amount of active projects covering energy, transport, water supply, health and education exceeds 190 million US dollars.
Appreciation was expressed for the initiative of the IDB regarding the allocation of 70 mln. US dollars to participate in the CASA-1000 project.
Satisfaction was expressed with the financing of the reconstruction of the road Shohon-Zighar-Kulyab-Kalai Khumb and other major projects.
Ahmad Mohammad Ali said that soon working group would be sent to Tajikistan to get acquainted with the consequences of the devastating earthquake in Badakhshan, other natural disasters, as well as the project of reconstruction of sections Kulyab-Shuroabad and Shkev-Kalai Khumb of the highway Kulyab-Darvoz and will adopt measures to provide operational support and financing of the reconstruction of these roads.
During constructive conversation the parties confirmed their mutual interest in expanding multifaceted cooperation.
