Rashid Alimov becomes New SCO Secretary General
Dushanbe, 12.01.2016. (NIAT «Khovar»). — Today, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Alimov Rashid Qutbiddinovich has been relieved from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the People’s Republic of China and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the SCO Secretariat in connection with his transfer to another post.
Alimov Rashid started work in accordance with the Decision of the Council of the Heads of the SCO Member States.
Alimov served as Tajikistan’s ambassador to China in 2005-2015 and permanent representative of the country at the SCO Secretariat. He replaced former Secretary General Dmitry Mezentsev.
