Dushanbe, 29.02.2016. (NIAT «Khovar»). — Today in Qasri Millat, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon received the Chief of General Staff of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China, who is also member of the Central Military Commission, General Fang Fenghui.

The issues of further development and expansion of multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and China have been discussed.

«The issue of strengthening relations between Tajikistan and China in military and military-technical sphere, in particular, security field is an important topic of cooperation between our countries», — said President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The parties are satisfied with relations, which have the character of strategic partnership and expressed the hope that, thanks to the consistent efforts, they will develop a sustainable dynamics.

The sides also exchanged views on military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries in the fields of training qualified Tajik military personnel, the implementation of previous agreements and stressed the important role of neighboring countries in ensuring security on the border of our country with Afghanistan, a joint combating of three threats — terrorism, extremism and separatism.

It was emphasized that in the rapidly changing conditions of the world, other threats and challenges, we must be fully equipped.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding. The sides also discussed other important issues of cooperation, pressing regional and international issues, as well as their solutions.
