Working meeting by the Leader of the Nation
Dushanbe, 10.02.2016 (NIAT «Khovar»). — The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon today held a working meeting with the heads of the ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, the State Committee for National Security, as well as National Guard, the Agency on State Financial Control and Fight against Corruption and Drug Control Agency and other relevant bodies.
The Head of state paid a particular attention to the upsetting situation in the region and the world, comprehensively reviewed the issues of improving the constant combat readiness of the Armed Forces and strengthening the protection of the state border, to strengthen the fight against crime, especially transnational organized crimes, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, preventing acts of corruption and economic crimes.
As well, particular attention was paid to the training and education of personnel, logistical support of military structures, effective implementation of military exercises and preparation, increasing the professionalism of the Command and Leadership staff of the Armed Forces.
President Emomali Rahmon noted that «the reliable protection of the state border with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan more than ever requires from the relevant structures of the country constant alertness, vigilance and professionalism.»
The need for effective cooperation with various sectors of society, including teachers, pupils, students, artists and cultural, religious leaders and clergy, political scientists, social scientists and other activists of the society was stressed in connection with the strengthening of the fight against crime and the prevention of the spread of extremism, in order to prevent the involvement of ignorant teenagers and young people.
President of the country Emomali Rahmon assigned concrete tasks to the officials for combating economic and corruption crimes, sustainable and efficient use of budget and logistical means.
