Tajikistan, European Union Discuss Cooperation Prospects
Dushanbe, 22.04.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Nizomiddin Zohidi here on Thursday has met with the delegation of the European Union headed by the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, the sides discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the EU.
They also discussed strengthening of cooperation on implementation of the National Strategy on Sustainable Development of Tajikistan for the period until 2030, upcoming meeting of the EU-Central Asia High Level Political and Security Dialogue, regional cooperation and security, water-energy and other international issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was also attended by Jobst von Kirchmann — Head of the Development Coordination Unit (DG DEVCO) of European Commission, Filiberto C. Sebregondi – Head of Development Cooperation Coordination Division of UEAS, Malgorzata Wasilewska – Head of Conflict Prevention, Peace Building and Mediation Division of UEAS, Berenice Muraille – Head of Sector for Central Asia (DG DEVCO), as well as Ambassador Hidajet Biscevic — Head of the EU Delegation to Tajikistan and other members of delegation.
