Dushanbe, 13.05.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. “Over the past 8 years Tajikistan has achieved significant results. During this time the Republic of Tajikistan in various fields has achieved good results — has decreased poverty and increased welfare of the people”, — World Bank’s Vice-President for South Asia Region Ms. Annette Dixon said during a briefing for journalists after the meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to her, today Tajikistan due to the influence of the global financial and economic crisis is still facing some problems.
Annette Dixon has noted that she has congratulated the President of Tajikistan with the construction of the CASA-1000 project, which will make a significant contribution to the energy sector of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
“We with Emomali Rahmon have discussed issues on creation of new jobs for the youth of Tajikistan and labor migrants returning home. We have also touched upon the regional projects of the World Bank on welfare of life of the peoples of these countries”, — Annette Dixon has announced.
