Meeting of Leader of the Nation with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev
Dushanbe, 24.05.2016 / NIAT “Khovar” /. The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev, who arrived in Dushanbe for a working visit as part of his participation in the joint board meeting of the ministries of internal affairs of both countries.
The two sides discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in various aspects of interaction of law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan and Russia as well as other relevant aspects of the relations between the two countries.
President of the Republic of Tajikistan, for his part, considered it important to further strengthen ties between the interior ministries of both countries based on a solid foundation of the Tajik-Russian strategic partnership.
In this context, it was pointed out the fruitful results of the joint work of the parties in carrying out operations to prevent and solve crimes, terrorism, and extremism, drug trafficking and other forms of transnational organized crime.
Head of state, with a focus on a number of topical issues that require further joint actions, noted the importance of continued cooperation between the parties in the fight against these crimes.
In light of recent decisions of the Government of the Russian Federation on the reorganization of law enforcement agencies, including the transfer of the Russian Migration Service under the jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry, special attention was paid to the issues of labor migration.
In this context, it was emphasized an importance of consistent implementation of the agreements reached between the two countries in this field, including in terms of strengthening of the legal and social protection of Tajik labor migrants.
During the meeting, the President of Tajikistan has expressed his concern over the recent cases of bandit attacks on Tajik migrant workers in Khovansk cemetery in Moscow, in which three were killed and dozens of citizens of Tajikistan were injured.
The Head of State stressed an importance of taking all necessary measures to bring to justice the organizers and perpetrators of these mass beatings of citizens of Tajikistan.
At the end of the conversation, the sides, noting the productivity of today’s meeting, expressed confidence in the fact that law enforcement cooperation between the two friendly countries will gain its future development.
