Dushanbe, 15.05.2016 / NIAT «Khovar» /. The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon in Kuwait city today met with the Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Marzouq Ali al-Ghanium.

The meeting discussed current state and prospects of inter-parliamentary relations between Tajikistan and Kuwait.

«We consider a mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary cooperation as the main basis for the strengthening of bilateral relations and ensuring of our interests at the regional and international levels», — said during the meeting the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the fact that the current political relations of Tajikistan and Kuwait gradually acquire real content and inter-parliamentary ties are an important part of bilateral political relations.

At the meeting there was given a realistic evaluation of the role of the two parliaments in strengthening friendly relations and effective proposals were presented for the revitalization of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations, including in the framework of inter-parliamentary group of friendship of Tajikistan and Kuwait.

During a warm and friendly conversation the sides exchanged views on the current threats and challenges, including international terrorism, extremism, illegal drug trafficking, facilitating the process of securing peace and stability in Afghanistan.
