Dushanbe, 05.08.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon also visited entrance to Rogun HPP construction tunnel of third level.

The third level construction tunnel is the largest facility of Roghun hydropower plant. It is used as a spillway tunnel, which regulates water of hydroelectric reservoir. This facility resembles two large gates, the width of which makes 32 meters, height — 30 m, length — 34 m.

Currently, construction of the gate of tunnel has been completed with all the requirements and standards of modern construction. In addition, in a distance of 850 meters all concrete and constructive work at the third level operation tunnel has been completed.

President Emomali Rahmon, during a conversation with the builders, has praised the quality of work performed.

Within the framework of his working visit to Roghun HPP, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon got familiar with the construction site and installation works on the upper level camera repair and emergency gates and inclined shaft construction of the tunnel DT-3.

It was informed that the gates of these cameras are located on the front of the emergency spillway tunnel, which, if necessary, serves for the prevention of water pressure.

In addition, stability of one of the vertical tunnels and gates will be studied comprehensively and built through the use of special iron sheets, in accordance with international standards.

The gates of the tunnel will be used after the full launch of Roghun HPP in cases when heavy rainfall or floods raise the water level in the reservoir and possibly lead to difficult situations. In such cases, the gate will open and excess water reservoir will be sent to the riverbed.

President Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with a group of workers and engineers and admonished them for quality work.
