The Leader of the Nation inaugurates Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University
Dushanbe, 30.08.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. On the eve of the 25th anniversary of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon put into operation today a new building of Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University.
President of the country cut the ribbon and closely reviewed classrooms and conditions created in subject rooms.
The Head of State laid a foundation stone for the construction of Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University in 2011, and construction work started in June 2012. 50 million somoni was spent for the construction of the new RTSU building. RTSU consists of three five-storied buildings where more than 1072 students can be trained.
The new building covers a total area of 15,000 sq. meters; it has created all favorable conditions for study. The basement of the building has a dining room for 280 seats, 5 laboratories for chemistry, physics and biology as well as a sports hall for 195 seats, 3 language laboratories with 50 seats, conference hall with 20 seats, forensic laboratory, assembly hall for 560 seats, a press center with TV and radio studios, an auditorium for 280 students, 2 computer rooms with 70 seats and, there is an e-library with 50 seats on the fifth floor.
RTSU is one of the largest universities in the country established in 1996 in the framework of mutually rewarding cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia.
The Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University conducts research in almost every field, in particular, 18 undergraduate domains, 11 graduate fields of study, more than 20 master degree programs, 2 areas for PhD and 3 doctoral postgraduate areas.
The Head of State Emomali Rahmon congratulated participants on the eve of a remarkable date of 25th anniversary of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and expressed satisfaction with cooperation of Tajikistan and Russia in the fields of politics, economy, trade, investment, education, science and culture, and defense.
