Tajikistan delegation attended Brussels Conference “Partnership for Prosperity and Peace”
Dushanbe, 06.10.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Aslov participated in Conference convened under the title «Partnership for Prosperity and Peace» on October 5 in Brussels. The Conference was also attended by high-level delegations from 70 countries and over 20 international and regional organizations.
According to MFA Information Department, during the Conference, the participants exchanged views on issues related to the implementation of reforms and priority programs aimed at promoting regional cooperation and socio-economic development and ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan. The parties also discussed a new package of international financial assistance to Afghanistan until 2020.
Speaking at the conference, Minister Aslov expressed the support of Tajikistan in the implementation of the initiatives of the international community on settling problems in Afghanistan and stressed the importance of infrastructure projects, as well as the efficient use of transit transport corridor in promoting joint efforts to ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan and regional security.
The energy and transport projects were also proposed at the conference that will be implemented in the Republic of Tajikistan and will have a positive impact on the development of socio-economic situation in Afghanistan.
