Meeting with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka
Dushanbe, 02.12.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On December 1, 2016, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the framework of his official visit to the Czech Republic met with the Prime Minister of this country Bohuslav Sobotka.
At the meeting the sides discussed issues of current state and prospects of cooperation, finding new ways to enhance bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the Czech Republic.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the meeting said that «we highly appreciate the level of cooperation of Tajikistan with the friendly Czech Republic and the European Union. From the first days of independence, strengthening of cooperation with European countries was for us one of the most important directions of our foreign policy».
President Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Czech Republic, called the meetings, forums of business circles of the two countries, participation in the economic and investment activities, establishment of direct business contacts for implementation of joint projects as an important factor in strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation.
Among the priority areas of bilateral cooperation were identified hydropower, transport, new technologies for the processing of agricultural products, tourism with attraction of Czech investments.
A constructive discussion also took place on the current situation in the region and the world, as well as addressing military-political crisis in neighboring Afghanistan.
