DUSHANBE, 29.12.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited in Varzob district a ski resort «Safed Dara» and took part in the opening ceremony of the new facilities of this sports and tourist complex.

The ski resort «Safed Dara» has been reconstructed by LLC «Safed Dara» and turned into an area for recreation, entertainment and sports activities on the various winter sports.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has put into operation the second phase of this unique sports and tourist complex, consisting of a two-story restaurant building, an assembly hall, a point of rent of ski equipment, children’s entertainment areas, a large ice rink for skating and hockey games, a cableway.

Two cableways with a length of over 2000 meters, with more than 140 rope tow lifts, have been commissioned in this complex after refurbishment and reconstruction. The cableways are equipped with modern lighting facilities suitable for sports activities at night.

In addition, Ltd. «Safed Dara» in cooperation with a respected Austrian company has built a high-speed 2027-meters-long cableway consisting of 32 cabins, each of which can accommodate up to 8 people.

President Emomali Rahmon praised the patriotic initiative of entrepreneurs on the improvement of this unique corner of our country, and instructed the responsible persons to facilitate as much as possible the maintenance of this area in a good functional state, attracting tourists and visitors, promoting winter sports among the population.
