Khudoberdi Kholiqnazar: “Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have good relationships ahead”
DUSHANBE, 09.01.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Relations between the two neighboring countries – Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are being strengthened. It was once again stated by Khudoberdi Kholiqnazar, Director of the Centre for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on January 9 at the press conference.
He added that in the relations of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan began a new phase of strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation. Holding of the meeting of Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and Republic of Uzbekistan that took place earlier in Dushanbe is the testimony to these words. Two neighboring countries within the framework of strengthening of economic cooperation signed an agreement in transport sector, according to which in 2017 between the two countries will be carried out direct air flights between Dushanbe and Tashkent, as well as the movement of trains. In this regard, the relevant ministries and agencies of the two countries shall undertake the necessary measures.
The issue of visas and facilitation of travel for residents of border areas between the two countries are also in the focus and consideration of relevant ministries and agencies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
