Tajikistan Ambassador Rahmatullozoda presents Credentials to the King of the Netherlands
DUSHANBE, 17.02.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On February 15, 2017 in the Hague the ceremony of presentation of the letters of credence by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan Erkinhon Rahmatullozoda to His Majesty the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander was held.
According to the MFA Information Department, after the ceremony of presentation of credentials, between the newly appointed Ambassador of Tajikistan and the King of the Netherlands a friendly conversation took place. Erkinhon Rahmatullozoda conveyed to His Majesty the King of the Netherlands warm greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and expressed readiness of Tajikistan to improve and strengthen the constructive relations between two countries, enrich relationships with new areas of cooperation and expand them in the framework of two side’s activities in international and regional organizations, in particular in the field of water cooperation.
King of the Netherlands, when he was the Crown Prince and presided for several years one of the UN agencies on water issues, supported this proposal. In turn, with a particular attention he discussed the situation in Central Asia and neighboring Afghanistan, the fight against modern challenges and threats, and opportunities for further development of economic relations. The King stressed that the Netherlands supports strengthening and expansion of constructive relations with Tajikistan.
At the end of the conversation, the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander asked the Ambassador to convey his best wishes to the people and to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
During his visit to the Hague, Erkinhon Rahmatullozoda held several fruitful meetings with officials of the Netherlands and heads of international organizations accredited in the country. In particular, bilateral talks were held with the President of the International Criminal Court Silvia Fernandez de Gurmendi, Deputy Director of Europol Oldrich Martinu, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Ronald van Roeden, as well as with heads of relevant departments of the Foreign Ministry, where the sides discussed issues of mutual interest and in particular considered the issue of cooperation and partnership of the European Union member states in the implementation of the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan until 2030.
