UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee delegation visits Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 23.02.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On 21 February 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan an extended meeting of representatives of the relevant ministries of Tajikistan with the delegation of the UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee has been held, MFA Information Department reports.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of fighting against terrorism and extremism, as well as strengthening international cooperation aimed at implementation of the National Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan on countering extremism and terrorism for 2016-2020.
It should be noted that from 20 to 24 February 2017 the delegation consisting of representatives of the UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee and international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Collective Security Treaty Organization and Commonwealth of Independent States will hold meetings with relevant ministries of the Republic of Tajikistan to discuss the ways of strengthening cooperation in fighting against modern security challenges.
