Dushanbe hosted Tajikistan-UAE political consultations
DUSHANBE, 21.03.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The first Tajikistan-UAE political consultations were held under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Nizomiddin Zohidi and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Ahmad Al-Jerman here in Dushanbe on March 20.
According to the MFA Information Department, the issues of further implementation of the agreements reached following the official visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the UAE in March 2016, the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the areas of politics, security, inter-parliamentary relations, trade, investment, energy, transport and logistics, science, education and culture were discussed.
In this context, the need to strengthen the role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation and the holding of its regular meeting in the UAE in the nearest future was also stressed.
The parties have noted the high level of bilateral interaction within international and regional organizations, as well as agreed a new package of bilateral documents and defined promising areas of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
There also took place an exchange of views on urgent regional and international issues.
