Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN attends the ECOSOC 2017 session on operational activities development segment
DUSHANBE, 03.03.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov participated and addressed in the UN Economic and Social Commission (ECOSOC) session on operational activities development segment as a new member of the ECOSOC, the MFA Information Department reports.
In his statement the Permanent Representative has emphasized the importance of the Quadrennial Comprehensive Policy Review of operational activities (QCPR) in enhancing the UN operational activities for development to support countries in their efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
Permanent Representative of Tajikistan has also praised UNDP for its support rendered to the Government of Tajikistan in aligning its National Development Strategy 2030 (NDS 2030) with the 2030 Agenda and has mentioned about Tajikistan’s decision to present its Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) during this year HLPF 2017.
