Joseph L. Votel: “Efforts of Tajikistan in the fight against illegal drugs are significant”
DUSHANBE, 25.04.2017 /NIAT “Khovar” /. Efforts of the Republic of Tajikistan in ensuring security in the borders and the fight against illegal drugs are highly evaluated. It was stated today by the United States Central Command Commander General Joseph L. Votel following the meeting with the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to Joseph L. Votel, during the meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon the issues related to ensuring security and stability in Central Asia, as well as fight against extremism and terrorism were discussed.
“We can overcome today’s challenges only together. In this regard, we have common goals and we struggle against these threats”, — noted Joseph L. Votel.
The US Central Command Commander General Joseph L. Votel, as part of his visit, will also meet with a number of heads of ministries and departments of Tajikistan.
