5.0-magnitude tremor struck in Lyakhsh district today early morning
A magnitude 5.0 earthquake rocked Tajikistan overnight to Thursday, the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan told Khovar News Agency.
According to seismologists, the 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck in the Lyakhsh district, 263 kilometers northeast of Dushanbe and 30 kilometers southeast of the district administrative center.
A spokesperson for Tajikistan’s Emergencies Committee said it had no information so far on any casualties or damage from the quake.
Tremors measuring 2.0 were registered in Dushanbe.
