Beginning of the working tour of the Leader of the Nation to Roghun HPP
This morning, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon visited Roghun city in order to get familiar with the process of construction work in the largest hydropower facility – Roghun Hydropower Plant (HPP). The ceremony of welcoming of the honored guest took place on the square of the OJSC Rogun Hydropower Plant (HPP).
Then, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon and his accompanying officials were familiarized with the process of construction work at gigantic facility of the century and held a meeting with the engineering staff and technical staff of this structure.
The acquaintance of the Head of State Emomali Rahmon began on the place of overlapping of the river and the process of construction of the upper dam.
As the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon was informed, the total amount of work on the dam is 2.7 million m3.
After the change of the riverbed, Salini Impregilo laid more than 2 million m3 of a mixture of stones and gravels for the construction of the dam. At present, 23 to 26 thousand m3 of overlapping materials are filled and fixed per day for the construction of the dam and the gateway of the first stage of the hydroelectric power station.
According to the information of the responsible persons of the Rogun HPP, along with the execution of ground operations, welding and installation of control and measuring equipment was also carried out simultaneously. It was reported that 47 units of control equipment have been connected and installed at the dam of the power plant until today.
According to the design and technology of dam construction, it is necessary to import 32,200 m2 of geomembranes building materials that are produced in Europe. Geomembranes are installed in the front part of the lock in parts and layers in a mixture with other protective materials and layers, which is provided for the overlap of water.
At present, the welding and installation work of the geomembrane on the dam is being continued, up to date they were completely connected and installed on an area of more than 18 thousand m2, and joints continue to be connected. The installation of this anti-filtering material will enable the water from the reservoir to flow through the sluices. In Tajikistan, this is the first experience.
The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, during his conversation with the Roghun HPP engineers and builders instructed them to pay attention to quality and safety first of all, since this «Temple of Light» is vital for the nation and guarantee of a dignified life for the people of Tajikistan.
Today, every builder and engineer, taking the instructions and recommendations of the Founder of Peace and National Unity -Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, announced on October 29, 2016 when the Vakhsh riverbed was changed, makes use of all the existing opportunities for performing basic works within the established deadlines for the commissioning of the first phase of the construction of this facility.
After getting acquainted with the process of work on some sections of the Roghun dam, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with the results of construction works in the transport tunnel — T-22.
It was reported that the construction works in the transport tunnel T-22 were completed, in general, the work on the construction of tunnels were made in the volume of 157 286 m3, and for the laying of structural concrete — in the volume of 32 865 m3. Currently, for the
construction of the dam, the transportation of stones and gravel continues through this tunnel. The total length of the named tunnel (T-22, T-22I and T-22II) is 600 meters.
The level, quality and pace of construction work in the Rogun HPP continues in accordance with the plan, the aspirations and efforts of valiant builders of the Rogun HPP, now numbering nearly 14,000, are supported by constant attention and systematic visits by the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
