President Emomali Rahmon attends Arab Islamic American Summit in Riyadh
The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon attended the first Arab Islamic American Summit taking place at King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 21.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia cordially greeted the head of our state Emomali Rahmon.
The summit was attended by the heads of state and government of 55 countries of the world.
The agenda of the Arab Islamic American Summit includes issues of ensuring global peace and stability, joint struggle against global threats — terrorism and extremism.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud opened the summit.
Then President Donald Trump of the United States delivered remarks at the summit.
In his address at the Summit, the President of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, extended his sincere gratitude to organizers of this Summit for the warm welcome, generous hospitality and the favorable working environment.
The Head of State Emomali Rahmon, once again condemning terrorism and extremism, pointed out that an unprecedented wave of terrorism and extremism urges us all to seek for the most efficient ways and “road maps” to eliminate sources of its political, military and financial support.
According to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the pursuance of “double standards” policy is one of the elements preventing implementation of overall common efforts and thereby, radical and violent groups benefit from the support of so called public foundations and organizations and other parties.
As the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon highlighted, the Tajik peace experience once again confirmed that any forces that speculate in the name of the holy Islam religion to achieve their own selfish goals will never enjoy the support of the community.
In the continuation of his address, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon outlined the situation in the Middle East, political situation in Afghanistan, underscored Tajikistan’s position in solving problems, preventing and condemning huge regional and international threats.
In conclusion of his address, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon highlighted the growing importance of dialogue of civilizations based on equality and mutual respect, tolerance and transparency, unity of our words and deeds, and expressed his hope that «the outcomes of the Summit will be successful and meet the hopes and expectations of peoples for the peace and stability in our countries.»
