Tajikistan and Belgium Look to Increase Cooperation
Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, Aslov Sirojiddin had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Didier Reynders on the sidelines of the sixth meeting of Cooperation Council between Tajikistan and the European Union.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, during the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Tajikistan and Belgium.
It was expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of political contacts between the two countries in light of the visits of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon to Belgium.
Aslov and D. Reynders expressed interest in the search for new ways to expand bilateral cooperation. In this context, the parties pointed out to the need to use huge opportunities to strengthen trade, economic and investment ties between the two countries, in particular in the areas of hydropower, transport, communications, agriculture and tourism.
The interlocutors also touched upon the issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Belgium within the framework of international organizations and other issues of mutual interest.
