Tajikistan’s FM Says Doha Forum Reflects Qatar’s Leadership at Regional, International Levels
The Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov attended opening ceremony of the 17th Doha Forum in Qatar on May 14, 2017.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojidin Aslov affirmed that Qatar and Tajikistan enjoy close and strong relations, pointing out that Qatar is one of the most important partners in the Middle East region that has many initiatives and the current Doha Forum demonstrates its leadership at the regional and international levels.
Speaking to Qatari newspaper (Al-Raya), Aslov expressed his happiness to participate in the Doha Forum which he described as important Forum that discussed issues concern not only the peoples of the region but also the peoples of the world as a whole.
The participants present seriously their assessment of the situation and the issues. They represent various bodies that enrich the discussion to discuss the causes behind the problems and seek the best solutions through sharing of experiences and expertise.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan also stressed his country’s desire to share the Qatari experience which has proved its successful in many sectors such as economy and foreign investment and its leadership in the energy and gas sector. He praised the excellence and strength of the Qatari banking sector, adding that his country is looking forward for a visit of a group of specialized technical bodies to discuss establishing branches of Qatari banks in Tajikistan to support development programs.
Aslov noted his meeting with HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during which they discussed the implementation of the concluded agreement between the two sides. He hailed their positive talks that reflect the desire of the two countries to enhance joint cooperation.
He expressed his desire to establish closer cooperation with the State of Qatar as it is one of the most reliable partners in the region and also to develop and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that Qatar has many initiatives and the Doha Forum proves its leadership in many areas.
Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister confirmed that his country’s doors are open to the Qatari investments in various fields such as mining, hydropower, agriculture, tourism and transportation.
Aslov affirmed his country’s keenness to establish more relationships with the State of Qatar to support cooperation at bilateral and regional level by establishing regional projects that serve all parties. He also stressed the two countries’ keenness to cooperate for the maintenance of international peace and security and to agree on many regional and international issues.
