Meeting with the Interior Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States member countries
DUSHANBE, 28.06.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met with the Interior Ministers of Commonwealth of Independent States member countries, who arrived in Tajikistan for participation in the session of CIS Interior Ministers Council.
The agenda of the meeting included close and effective cooperation matters in addressing fight against terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, illegal drug trade, prevention of citizens from joining extremist groups and a number of international issues.
It was stressed that in the period of globalization and the rapid change of the international situation, the relevant structures of CIS member countries should take joint measures on threats and challenges of the modern world and combat them uncompromisingly.
It was also noted that the implementation of normative legal acts adopted by CIS member nations promoted the conducting of operational and preventive measures, the exchange of information, the training of highly qualified law enforcement personnel and law enforcement agencies and enhancing the professionalism of these structures to ensure security and stability in society.
Other issues of mutual interest were also touched upon during the meeting.
