UN Secretary-General António Guterres to take part in SDGs Conference in Dushanbe as part of his tour to Central Asia
DUSHANBE, 07.06.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres began his first official Central Asian tour in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan on June 8, according to the UN News Center.
The UN Secretary-General will visited, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan as well.
In Astana he will attend at 17th Meeting of SCO Council of Heads of State and Opening Ceremony of Astana Expo 2017. Later on, Antonio Guterres plans to meet with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and make a speech at the SCO plenary session.
On June 10, the UN Secretary-General will arrive in Samarqand, Uzbekistan, where he will meet with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
On June 11, the Secretary-General will arrive in Bishkek. After a meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev, Antonio Guterres will visit Osh, where he will take part in events dedicated to the June 2010 events.
On June 12, the UN Secretary General will arrive in Dushanbe, where he will hold talks with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and attend a conference on the Sustainable Development Goals.
On June 13, Antonio Guterres will arrive in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, where he will meet with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and to take part in a high-level dialogue, dedicated to the implementation of the strategy for combating terrorism in Central Asia.
