DUSHANBE, 26.07.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of the Government Emomali Rahmon held a regular meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the new building of the Government of the country.

At the beginning of the meeting, the speech of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon «On the results of social and economic development of the Republic of Tajikistan in the first half of 2017» was heard.

It was stressed that for 6 months of 2017, despite the continuing negative impact of the difficult situation of the world economy, the country was provided with a positive trend of economic development. The volume of GDP made up 24023.0 million somoni, the rate of its development was 106.0 percent, the real growth of the economy was provided mainly due to an increase in the volume of production of industrial products by 21.3 percent, agriculture by 6.4 percent, retail trade turnover — by 3.6% and paid services — by 0.6%.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan noted that the existing opportunities and resources in the implementation of the National Development Strategy for the period until 2030 and the Medium-term Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2016-2020 have not been fully and effectively utilized.

Therefore, the Government of the country, ministries, departments and relevant bodies were instructed to take practical measures, fully and effectively use the intellectual and human resources of their structures to achieve medium and long-term goals, taking into account the provision of integrated quantitative and qualitative indicators for the development of all sectors of the economy.

Also, the Prime Minister, his deputies, ministries, departments and local executive bodies of state authority were charged to take urgent measures for the timely and full implementation of state and sectoral strategies and programs, action plans for 2017, especially in terms of fulfilling the instructions of the Head of State voiced in the Address to the Majlisi Oli «On the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan», Decrees of the Government of the country on the results of socio-economic development of the country in 2016 and tasks for 2017, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On the State Budget for 2017» and instructions given by the President of the country during his trips to cities and districts.

After full consideration, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan adopted a Resolution aimed at achieving sustainable development of the national economy, eliminating existing shortcomings, fulfilling strategic goals and ensuring sustainable development of social and economic spheres.

Then, the report of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nematullo Hikmatullozoda «On the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2018-2020» was heard.

At the meeting, the draft law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On amending the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On the State Budget of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2017», the conclusion of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On introduction of amendments and additions to the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region» and the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On Adult Education» were submitted for consideration to the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Further, the members of the Government of the country considered the issues related to agreements on cooperation of the Republic of Tajikistan with other states, as well as with international organizations, the state program for the development of the system of advanced training and retraining of workers of education sphere of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2018-2022, the General Plan of the village of Shahriston-center of Shahriston district of Sughd Region, creation of the State institution «State Children’s Philharmony of Tajikistan» and other topical questions related to modern life of the country.
