Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with the purpose of familiarization with the conditions of the fields of potato growing and beekeeping made a working trip to the Kanask locality of the rural jamoat Romit of Vahdat city.

Here, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon launched the harvesting of potatoes and became familiar with the achievements of the workers at the exhibition of a number of agrarian farms.

The total area of ​​Kanask locality is 40 thousand hectares and its climate is very cool and the nature is beautiful. The land here is covered with greenery in spring and summer. Kanask is located in the north-east of Vahdat city at an altitude of 2300-2500 meters above the sea level, at a distance of 100 km from the city center.

According to the instruction of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic in 2018 will expand the sowing area of ​​seed potatoes to 400 hectares and will bring its harvest to 16 thousand tons.

The Head of state Emomali Rahmon with the goal of ensuring food security and development of the seed sector has instructed the responsible persons of the agrarian sphere of the country to the effective use of land, production of high-quality seeds, provision of prosperity in the consumer market, establishment of agricultural exports, collection and packing of medicinal herbs in the Kanask locality.
