Head of State Emomali Rahmon met with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi
DUSHANBE, 16.10.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. In the sidelines of the second session of the Arab Cooperation and Economic Forum with Central Asia and Azerbaijan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi to discuss the full range of issues.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the current status of the Tajikistani – Qatar cooperation, based on reciprocal respect, equality and mutually beneficial cooperation.
In the course of the talks, the two sides, in particular, discussed participation of Qatari investments in the implementation of power projects in Tajikistan, including, the construction of hydroelectric power stations and overhead transmission line.
In particular, they discussed stepping up cooperation for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and establishing the Qatari Development Fund in Tajikistan and the joint consulting and investment company.
They also reviewed stepping up cooperation at sectors, like mining, launching of direct air communication between Dushanbe and Doha, and tourism as areas that could drive the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Qatar.
