Delegation of Tajikistan took part in Sessions of the World Customs Organization’s Council
DUSHANBE, 18.12.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The head of Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan Abdufattoh Ghoib took part in the 131st Session of the Council of the World Customs Organization, which was held on December 14-15, 2017 in Brussels, Belgium.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the European Union Erkinkhon Rahmatullozoda.
According to Tajik MFA Information Department, the participants of the meeting discussed issues related to WCO activities in 2017 and outlined its work plans in 2018.
During the discussion, Ricardo Treviño Chapa, the current Administrator General of Mexico Customs, was elected Deputy Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO). He will take up his post at the Secretariat on 1 January 2018.
In the sideline of the WCO special session, the head of Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan Abdufattoh Ghoib met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Foroud Asgarai.
Following the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters.
