DUSHANBE, 09.03.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. In the afternoon of March 9, 2018, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Savkat Mirziyoyev visited the Exhibition of Uzbek Industrial goods and gave the order to launch operations of Ghalaba-Amuzang section of railway via video link.

The enterprises of the neighboring republic exhibited 60 types of machinery, construction materials, electronic products, chemical and mineral fertilizers, pharmacy medicine, food and light industries, and etc.

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, following the exhibition, gave to entrepreneurs useful advice on creating joint industrial enterprises, establishing mutual imports and exports of the products of the two countries and increasing trade turnover between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The heads of state characterized the holding of such exhibitions as an important factor in establishing new partnerships and expanding trade and economic relations.

Ghalaba-Amuzang section of railway connects Surkhandaryo Province of Uzbekistan with the Khatlon Province of Tajikistan.

Thanks to the benevolent and wise policy of the Heads of the two fraternal and neighboring states, after long years of blockage the Ghalaba-Amuzang section of railway connecting the southern Provinces of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan resumed its operation. Tajikistan and Uzbekistan today make a lasting step towards a new stage of good-neighborly relations.

The reopening of the Ghalaba-Amuzang section of railway is a true reflection of the successive efforts of the Heads of State — the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

This wise step of the Heads of the two countries will lay a real foundation in favor of unimpeded movement of citizens, strengthening of trade and cultural ties, strengthening of Tajik – Uzbek friendly relations, increasing trade turnover, rational use of resources of the two countries and improving the quality of people’s life.

Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are connected by the centuries-old good historical relations, which in the future should develop in all spheres of the national economy in accordance with mutually beneficial opportunities.
