Briefing in Islamabad for media representatives on the outcomes of the High-Level International Conference «Countering terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism»
On 16 may 2018, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Pakistan held a briefing on the results of the High-Level International Conference «Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism» (3-4 may 2018, Dushanbe), which was attended by ambassadors of a number of States, representatives of the electronic and print media of Pakistan, political analysts of the research centers of the host state, as well as the representatives of the Regional Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, the Ambassador of Tajikistan, Jononov S. Sh. told about the aims of the High-Level International Conference «Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism», which took place on 3-4 may 2018 in Dushanbe, brought to the attention of the participants of the briefing the main points of the keynote address of the Founder of the Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the «Dushanbe Declaration».
It was stressed that the Dushanbe conference acted as an important platform for constructive interaction and fruitful dialogue, was the center of attraction for all stakeholders who advocate the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation mechanisms, and it has made a significant contribution in the process of building and further promotion of initiatives on topical issues of ensuring international and regional security and peace.
At the end of the briefing the Ambassador of Tajikistan, Jononov S. Sh., answered questions of journalists and experts, and also gave special interview to the State TV of Pakistan (Pakistan Television Corporation).
