President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Foreign Minister of Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev
The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev on the sidelines of the High-level International Conference on “Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism”.
During the meeting the sides in particular discussed a wide range of issues in bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
While addressing bilateral issues that include priority areas pertaining to Tajik – Kyrgyz cooperation in the sphere of policy, economy, hydropower, and transportation and its prospects for developing the two sides considered it necessary to stir up the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on the comprehensive review of bilateral issues.
It was stressed that Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, taking into account the developing mutually beneficial trade relations continue to make joint efforts to implement key strategic projects, in particular the building of railroads, the implementation of energy projects — CASA-1000.
The sides also discussed the development of cooperation in the field of education and science, culture and other sectors.
The meeting also discussed issues related to the joint struggle against global threats — terrorism and extremism, transnational organized crime and drug trafficking.
