President Emomali Rahmon held talks with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev
On the sidelines of his participation in the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Kazakhstan capital’s transfer to Astana, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The discussion focused, in particular, on topical issues of Tajikistani – Uzbekistani relations and its prospect in the areas of common interest.
President was particularly pleased at the opportunity of meeting with his colleague in the context of the implementing of reached agreements following the results of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan that took place in March 2018 with the aim of developing and expanding wide-ranging cooperation, friendship and good neighborliness.
During the meeting the two sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening their countries’ fruitful ties. The implementation of unused opportunities in the interests of the people was also discussed.
Other issues being of mutual interest were considered during the conversation.
