Condolences of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon over the death of Kofi Annan
DUSHANBE, 18.08.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon send a message of condolences to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The text of the message read in particular:
«Excellency,
We were deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Mr. Kofi Annan, former United Nations Secretary-General.
During his time as the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Kofi Annan, with his continuous efforts in the fields of maintaining stability, peace and security, as well as the implementation of international development goals was recognized as an outstanding politician and earned his place in the international arena.
At the same time, I would like to particularly emphasize the invested efforts of this prominent figure in the advancement of constructive cooperation between the United Nations and the Republic of Tajikistan.
It is with the pleasant memory and enormous respect for the deceased one that I would like to kindly ask Your Excellency to convey our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of Mr. Kofi Annan».
