Dushanbe hosted joint meeting of the rescue agencies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
DUSHANBE, 15.08.2018 / NIAT “Khovar”/. The first joint board meeting of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held on August 14 in Dushanbe, the press service of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan (CESCD) reports.
The Uzbek delegation was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Kuldashev.
“During the meeting, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction, such as the creation and operation of early warning and monitoring systems at potentially hazardous facilities and sites located in the border areas between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the procedure for the exchange of information and mutual notification of the population in the event of threats and emergencies of natural and man-made character in the border areas were discussed”, — the source said.
The meeting was organized to implement the Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations dated 9 March 2018, as well as the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
Following the work of the meeting, the Protocol of the first joint meeting of the rescue agencies of the two countries, the Action Plan on cooperation between the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations for 2018-2019 were signed.
The next joint board meeting was made to be held in 2019 in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
