Meeting of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov
DUSHANBE, 18.08.2018. /NIAT «Khovar»/. On the sidelines of his state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
On the agenda were current bilateral friendly relations and prospects for developing cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
President of our country Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and highly appreciated the work done by Abdulla Aripov as a co-chair of the Intergovernmental Commission on development and strengthening of Tajikistani – Uzbekistani relations, for his huge contribution to broadening and deepening of relations.
The head of state stressed that during the high-level meetings between the two countries, the existing problems of cooperation were found and we intend to further collaboration programs with the nearest neighbor on the format of strategic partnership.
The two sides agreed on the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of agricultural, tourism and food-related sectors, industrial development, seed production, livestock breeding, poultry farming, and mineral fertilizers.
They recognized the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of science and education, and allocation of quotas for students of the two countries.
The sides also shared thoughts and positions on issues of mutual interest.
