Meeting of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with the prosecutors general of the CIS and SCO member states
DUSHANBE, 20.09.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today at the Palace of the Nation met with the heads of delegations taking part in the 28th session of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and 16th session of the Prosecutors General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states.
President of the country emphasized that the prosecutors’ office occupies an important place in the structures of the state apparatus and the law society and expressed hope that today’s CIS and SCO Prosecutors Generals’ session will encourage sharing of experience and seek new directions by joint efforts regarding strengthening the rule of law, security and stability in our countries.
The fight against transnational organized crime, intensity of threats of terrorism, extremism, religious radicalism, destructive effects of other reactionary movements and its cause fatal consequences in various parts of the world as well as security problems was the main subject of discussion.
In this context, the President of our country expressed serious concern over the position of organizations and individual parties regarding manifestations of violent extremism and terrorism by using of policy of «double standards».
It was noted that due to this factor, many terrorist and violent extremist groups and movements continue their sabotage activities by using of political, informational, financial and other protection of individual organizations and parties.
It was expressed concern over the complex political and security situations in warring countries, the negative effects of political disaffection and the deaths of civilians in these states. The joint integration was called important for ensuring security in the territories of the CIS and SCO member states.
Particular attention was paid to the key role of the CIS Antiterrorist Center, the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure and the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) addressing joint fight against threats and risks of the present time.
Other agenda item were prevention of illegal drug trafficking, provision of information security, fight against cybercrime and other dangerous phenomena.
The Prosecutors General of the CIS and SCO member states, in particular the Prosecutors General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of India took part in the meeting.
The Prosecutors Generals of the SCO observer countries and its dialogue partners include the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of Mongolia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, and Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka was invited to the session. The meeting participants also include President of the International Association of Prosecutors Gerhard Jarosch and the Attorney General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
