Tajik Man Pulled Out from Under the Rubble of a Collapsed Building Came Out of a Coma
DUSHANBE, 14.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – A native of Tajikistan Shuhrat Ulfatov, who was injured on December 31 when a section of an apartment block in the city of Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk, Russia collapsed, came out of a coma.
The men was found the day of the collapse and sent to a local and then regional hospital.
Three days later, rescues pulled from under the rubble the bodies of his wife and three small children.
Ulfatov sustained many injuries, including splenic rupture, pneumothorax, and abdominal injuries, said the Migration Service officials. He spent eleven days in a coma.
The staff of the Tajik diplomatic mission in Russia visited the Tajik native.
He was among the 18 people who were rescued.
Ulfatov’s wife and children were transported to Tajikistan on Sunday and buried in Kushoniyon disctict in the Khatlon province.
Currently, his condition is assessed as stable.
The incident resulted in the death of 39 people.
