President Emomali Rahmon attended tree-planting campaign in Danghara district of Khatlon Province
DUSHANBE, 24.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended a mass planting of fruit-bearing trees in the Dangara district of the Khatlon province. This tree-planting is part of a spring season campaign, which will take place throughout the country.
More than 1,000 people participated in this tree-planting campaign, including Khatlon’s farmers and horticulture specialists.
Previously, in 2018, expansive gardens encompassing 100 hectares were planted in Dangara with the direct support and guidance of the president. Last year, due to efficient land use and a favorable harvesting season more than 1,000 tons of fruit were exported from Dangara abroad.
Today, an expansive garden covering an area of 100 hectares was planted with four varieties of apples. Emomali Rahmon personally planted apple trees and encouraged the participants to further contribute to planting gardens.
Over 63,000 apples trees were planted today, including 28,000 Aztec Fuji, 16,200 Modi, 16,000 Geraldine and 3,000 Pink Lady varieties. The apples trees were imported from Krasnodar, Russia.
While inspecting tree seedlings and learning about farming, Emomali Rahmon also held a meeting with the participants and shared his views on creative measures of the government, preparations for the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, as well as the implementation of the main provisions of the presidential address to the Supreme Assembly regarding the development of arboriculture.
