Tajik Delegation Attended the Meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers
DUSHANBE, 04.03.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The 46th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) took place on March 1-2 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, reported the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated in the session.
Muhriddin emphasized the significant role of the OIC in resolving the pressing issues of the Islamic world, enhancement of coordination in addressing modern challenges and threats and called to further develop cooperation between the OIC Member States in various fields, including the peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
Muhriddin also called on the member countries to actively participate in the International and Regional Cooperation in the Fight Against Terrorism and Its Sources of Financing, Including Illicit Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime. The conference is planned to take place in May in Dushanbe. He likewise encourage the countries’ participation in the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, which will also be held in Dushanbe, in June.
