President Emomali Rahmon and Japan’s FM Taro Kono Discuss Attracting Japanese Investment and Tourists
DUSHANBE, 18.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Today following the meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Taro Kono, who arrived in Dushanbe to attend the Seventh Ministerial Meeting of the Central Asia Plus Japan Dialogue, shared his opinion about the meeting.
“This is the first visit of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan to Tajikistan in over the past 15 years. We convey great importance to this visit. At a meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, we discussed issues relating to cooperation in various fields of mutual interest, in particular, attracting investment and tourists from Japan to Tajikistan, as well as exchange in the field of culture and education,” stated Kono.
“Japan as part of the Central Asia Plus Japan Dialogue maintains strong bilateral friendly relations with Tajikistan and other Central Asian countries,” said the Japanese Foreign Minister.
