President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev
DUSHANBE, 14.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. The meeting took place on June 14 on the sidelines of the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia in Dushanbe.
The meeting focused on the situation and the prospects of cooperation between the two countries.
President Emomali Rahmon congratulated Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev on his victory in the presidential elections and expressed confidence that with joint efforts the two countries will also continue to develop and strengthen strategic partnerships in the future.
The counterparts discussed issues relating to the development and expansion of cooperation in trade, economy, water, energy, transportation, communications and other mutually beneficial areas.
The parties also discussed joint cooperation in the fight against international terrorism, extremism, religious radicalism, organized transnational crimes, and issues of addressing the complex political situation in the neighboring Afghanistan.
Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation of both countries within regional and international organizations and associations, such as the UN, CSTO, OSCE, CIS, SCO and CICA.
