Tajikistan Intends to Expand Tourism Cooperation with ECO Member States
DUSHANBE, 23.08.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the government of Tajikistan Numon Abdugafforzoda met with the Secretary General of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Hadi Soleimanpour on Thursday in Dushanbe.
During the meeting, information was presented on the tourism development process in Tajikistan and President Emomali Rahmon’s initiatives in this direction, reported the Committee for Tourism Development.
The meeting also focused on the issues relating to the next meeting of tourism ministers of the ECO member states and senior experts, which will be held in the coming days in Tajikistan.
“Tajikistan is of greatest interest for the ECO region, and the purpose of the meeting of tourism ministers is to ensure the sustainable development of tourism in the ECO member states,” noted Soleimanpour.
He also called the creation of regional routes and the simplification of the visa system between ECO member states one of the priorities in the development of the tourism sector for the region’s countries.
Both parties also touched upon the strengthening of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the ECO member states in the field of tourism, including health and medical tourism, exchanging experience with ECO member states in the organization and taking cooperation in the tourism sector to a whole new level.
