Tajik Foreign Minister Meets With the Head of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office
DUSHANBE, 25.09.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday in New York on the sidelines of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the UN Under-Secretary-General, head of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office Vladimir Voronkov.
The meeting focused on the outcome of the International and Regional Cooperation on Countering Terrorism and its Financing Through Illicit Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime conference, which took place in Dushanbe on 16-17 May 2019, reported the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two officials also discussed the issues relating to the regional security, strengthening of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN counter-terrorism units, as well as the prospects of joint actions in this area.
