President Emomali Rahmon Meets with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev
DUSHANBE, 11.10.2019 (NIAT Khovar) — On the sideline of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Ashkhabad the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The discussion concerned the current status and prospects of the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
President Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the opportunity to meet President Mirziyoyev and stressed that each talk and negotiation between the parties will make a significant contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership.
President Emomali Rahmon expressed noted the positive steps taken to support each other’s initiatives in the international arena and the implementation of earlier reached agreements. The officials stressed that need to preserve these traditions, since Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have a great potential for enhancing win-win cooperation in all directions. They also discussed the implementation of joint projects, construction of social facilities, transport and communications, boosting trade and economic cooperation.
Another item on the agenda was the cultural and humanitarian relations and the organization of regular cultural events with participation of cultural and art figures of the two countries.
