President Emomali Rahmon Meets Chairman of Governing Board of Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan
DUSHANBE, 06.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – Within the framework of his official visit to Switzerland, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Chairman of the governing board of the Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan.
The discussion included the current issues and prospect of bilateral cooperation in the financial and banking sector.
President Emomali Rahmon called Switzerland one of the important and reliable partners of Tajikistan in the international arena and expressed his satisfaction with the level and content of the current sphere of cooperation.
Improving the banking system, implementation of promising investment projects, providing advisory and technical assistance, capacity development for international resource management within IMF, WB and SECO were also discussed during the meeting.
While discussing external influences on the national economy of Tajikistan, further expanding the cooperation in the financial sectors and promoting economic growth was mentioned as vitally important.
It was emphasized that the financial institutions and investment association of Switzerland are able to actively participate in the implementation of transportation, communication and energy projects in Tajikistan, established new manufacturing plants, to cooperate with existing industrial enterprises, in particular enterprises for the processing of cotton, wool, cocoons, vegetables and fruits.
Other issues being of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
