President Emomali Rahmon Meets President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev
DUSHANBE, 28.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2nd Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian Nations on November 28.
The discussion concerned the current status of and prospects of expanding cooperation in trade and economy, transportation, science, culture and the humanitarian sphere.
The counterparts expressed their satisfaction over the expansion of cooperation in the areas of transportation, communications and interregional relations, especially between the capitals of the two countries.
Further increasing the trade turnover between the two countries will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this regard, the implementation of joint investment projects in the manufacturing industry was mentioned as of vital importance.
At the end of the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon extended an invitation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Tajikistan on an official visit, which was accepted with appreciation.
